IMPACT OF DATA ANALYTICS ADOPTION ON RESOURCE ALLOCATION AND OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA

This study was carried out to investigate the Impact of Data Analytics Adoption on Resource Allocation and Operational Efficiency in Tertiary Institutions in Enugu State, Nigeria. The design of this study is a descriptive survey design. The research is carried out in five universities in Enugu State. The population of the study comprised 5,201 academic staff in the five universities in Enugu State, Nigeria while the sample size was 202 academic staff (Heads of Departments-HODs, lecturers and librarians) selected from two universities using multi-stage sampling technique. Simple random sampling technique was used to select two out of the five universities Enugu State. Purposive sampling technique was used in selecting four faculties and eight departments which offered same programmes. The simple random technique of cap and draw was used in selecting academic staff from the two universities used for the study. Data were generated with questionnaire. The data were analysed in tables using mean wherein nominal value was assigned to scaling items. The findings from the study revealed that; Data analytics helps administrators analyze institutional financial data to make informed budgeting decisions and the use of data analytics has enhanced decision-making efficiency among administrators in the institution. It was recommend among others that; Tertiary institutions should prioritize the provision of modern ICT infrastructure, including reliable internet connectivity, data management systems, and analytics software, to support effective data analytics implementation.
